Why Ronzano?
The EUROPEAN GENETICS FOUNDATION intends to build a center mainly devoted to advanced training in medicine and genetics and to the promotion of scientific research particularly focused on nutrition and genetic epidemiology. In general, all advanced education and training activities will be fostered, even in fields other than medicine and genetics, with particular emphasis on cultural exchanges among different populations in scientific and humanistic sectors that might entail important social effects as well as dissemination activities in the above mentioned fields, i.e. the organization of congresses, seminars, courses or exhibits.
From the deed signed by the Provincia di Romagna dei Servi di Maria and the European Genetics Foundation in front of Notary Public Luigi Malaguti in Bologna on January 27, 2004:
The PROVINCIA DI ROMAGNA DEI SERVI DI MARIA (the religious Order of the Servants of Mary), given the high ethic value of the cultural and educational program of the EUROPEAN GENETICS FOUNDATION, intends to donate to the Foundation the landlease of an area located next to the Ronzano Hermitage, so that the Foundation can build on it a facility with the above stated goals.
