Euro-Mediterranean Center for Genetics and Medicine
Bologna hosts the most ancient European University founded in 1088. Bologna also hosts the European School of Genetic Medicine (ESGM), organized by the European Genetics Foundation (EGF), which will build in two to three years time the new permanent venue of the ESGM next to the Eremo di Ronzano (Hermitage of Ronzano) in Bologna, 3.5 km from the historical city center. To this end the European Genetics Foundation received a donation of 16,500 square meters of land from the Padri dell'Ordine dei Servi di Maria. The new Center will be called: "Giuseppe Levi and Victor A. McKusick Euro-Mediterranean Center for Genetics and Medicine".
